Pay The Price

The year 2000 was the last good year. It was like a magical seal for a bright future ahead. Until, the seal was broken in New York City by the butterfly that started the hurricane. Our world was dying. Earth had become a dark, toxic hell waste. Decades after decades, there was no more color in the world. No more hope. Until one day, we received a visit from our allies. They wanted us to leave earth but we had informed them that we had no fuel to reach the nearest planet. The good news was that they had found a human colony that was sending a ship to rescue the last survivors of mankind. The only bad news was that by the power of space and time, on the way back home to the new humanized colony, the aliens will be putting up toll booths throughout the universe.
