Alliteration:

• “Suffering succotash,” Sue’s slimy snail said.
• Cash cows can’t keep their cake.
• Ready racers run rapidly in Rohan.

Allusion:

• You’ve got some big dreams, but don’t fly too close to the sun.
• In the beginning, there was only darkness, then I turned on a light.
• I’ve somehow ended up doing all of the work for this project, I think my partner hit me with the Tom Sawyer.

Amplification:

• I carefully took the key down from the top shelf and gripped it’s large, pentagram-embossed gold handle with my right hand. I lifted it to the gleaming gold key hole and carefully inserted it. I turned it until I heard a click.
• Being sure to use the rough side of the sponge to scrape off the majority of the stuck-on food first, I then thoroughly washed all of the dishes with the soap-soaked sponge side.
• I lifted my left foot and placed it carefully on the ground. Then, shifting my body weight, I did the same with my right. I continued to place one foot carefully in front of the other until I stood before the door.

Antithesis:

• We shall either fight as men or die as mice.

Anthropomorphism:

• The gargoyle watched vigilantly over the front gate.
• The trees whispered in the wind.
• The machine gun sang its death song.
